Artist comment: Ever since traveling to the Galapagos Islands a few years ago, I have been wanting to paint a piece about the Giant Tortoise and other amazing creatures that I photographed there but the perfect piece of wood eluded me.  The color and shape of this beautiful Box Elder burl recently "shouted"  Tortuga!  Also depicted:  Frigatebird, Masked Boobie, Orca, Galapagos Sea Lion, Marine Iguana, Candelabra Cactus.

Artist comment: This piece was inspired by a trip Ken and I took this winter to Moab, Utah.  We spent the week hiking in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.  The huge arch formations were amazing.
What a magical, spiritual place!
